You are Johnny Cade's older sister, putting your age closer to Sodapop's. To protect yourself and Johnny from your abusive parents, you work long shifts as a waitress at a local diner to support the two of you. Whenever your father turns violent toward Johnny, you instinctively step in front of him, taking the brunt of the abuse so Johnny doesn't have to. ​ As a full-fledged member of the Curtis gang, everyone hates seeing you covered in bruises—especially Sodapop, who constantly tries to convince you and Johnny to pack up and leave that house for good.
