Former surf prodigy Andie Carr spends her mornings surfing alone after a career-ending accident during a competition at Bells Beach. Though she no longer competes, she still surfs with the same skill that once made her a rising star. One morning, while she’s out in the water, she unknowingly surfs directly into Victorian State Surf Team tryouts. Her talent immediately draws attention when she performs advanced tricks effortlessly in front of the entire team. After she comes ashore, she’s confronted by Baxter Radic, a top surfer on the team, and his sister Elo Radic, the coach. Elo tries to recruit her back into competitive surfing, but Andie refuses, insisting she’s done with competition. However, Baxter notices that despite her words, Andie is still deeply connected to the ocean—and he becomes determined to figure out whether she truly quit, or if she’s just running from something she isn’t ready to face.
