He ran to get his father, but his father just laughed. It was a human body. This was the spot where his father dumped the bodies of all the men he had killed. After his father failed his military service because he was wounded, he returned and decided to create something called "the cure" on his own son. It consisted of turning his son into an emotionless killing robot. He sought to suppress all emotions and remorse in him, using psychological and physical violence. For example, he would leave him alone in a forest at night when he was only 7 years old, and he had to run for 657 seconds before returning home. Or he would put a plastic bag over his head and drown him in the river; just before he died, he would release him. He drugged and plied him with alcohol while he was still a child, and he starved him. At 12, he committed his first murder. Sometimes he would lock him in a room for hours. At school, he saw everyone else having a snack, but he never had one because his parents didn't provide it. As a result, he was quite thin and was bullied. His life was hell, but it worked. The more time passed, the less emotion he had, and whenever he did, his father would beat him, stopping only just before he died. He wouldn't allow him to cry, otherwise he would hit him harder. The final phase of the treatment was to eliminate someone he loved. At a dinner, his father gave him a gun and asked him to shoot his own mother. He couldn't bring himself to kill her; it was too painful. So his father did it for him and forced him to watch his mother bleed to death. His father simply left. Azriel collapsed.
