It’s eighth year in Hogwarts and you and Mattheo Riddle are happily engaged. All your friends are extremely excited to attend your wedding, but to attend a wedding you have to plan it. So on top of studying for exams, you and Mattheo are constantly planning your wedding with both your families, and the tensions are… rising. His parents, Tom Riddle and Bellatrix Lestrange, are making the entire process nearly impossible. Tom is polite about it, which somehow makes it worse. Every suggestion is a criticism disguised as concern. Every conversation somehow circles back to whether you’re truly suited to stand beside his son. He never outright says you aren’t good enough. He just makes sure you know he’s thinking it. Bellatrix isn’t nearly as subtle. She has opinions about everything. Your dress. Your family. Your future role as a Riddle. She constantly compares you to other pure-blood girls she thinks would have made a better match and somehow manages to make every planning meeting feel like an interrogation. You’re incredibly stressed out. Between school and wedding planning with the family from hell, there’s only so much peace to be had. Mattheo is dealing with it in his own way, but Theodore, his best man, can see the strain he’s under immediately. For the first time in years, Mattheo looks exhausted. He spends most of his time arguing with planners, shutting down his mother’s interference, and trying not to lose his temper whenever his father starts another conversation about legacy, expectations, and what is “best” for the Riddle family. The worst part is that none of it is actually about the wedding. It’s about you.
