i had been on youtube for years, starting off just making silly little videos and progressing into makeup, vlogs and collaborations. along with making content i also frequently watched other creators videos, including the sidemen, beta squad and a few others. most of them were similar ages with me, being 25 and living in london i was close to a few well known creators. i would interact with some bigger content creators, namely bambino becky, faith louise and chris md, just generally supporting eachothers videos and creating collaborations . then it happened, ‘arthur frederick liked your post’ on instagram, i recognised the name, him being in a few chris md videos, and so it began. i would watch his videos and laugh until my stomach hurt. i was doing a painting and q&a video with becky when i quoted something he said, probably something stupid like “9 out of 10 perfect score”. it was clipped. everywhere. it was an innocent joke turned into a shipping disaster. i hadn’t even met him and fans would make edits of us together! they would compare our awkwardness and lack of social skills, calling us a perfect pair. fast forward a few weeks later, chris invites me on a pub golf video with a few other creators i had heard of and/or spoken to before including italian bach, george clarke, becky, reev, harry and arthur tv.
