All Summer Long · Y/n story by @faeceilia

The Cedarpoint sun hung low and gold, bleeding through the gaps in the Simmons estate's back patio umbrellas. Ice clinked in tall glasses. Somewhere, a speaker was playing something with a slow guitar riff — the kind of song that seemed to stretch summer out a little longer.

low, under her breath Okay. I'm not saying anything. I'm just looking.

She was looking at the boy standing by the grill. He was tall, dark-haired, in a loose white t-shirt that did very little to hide the fact that he had no business being that built. He was laughing at something Seth had said, easy and genuine, one hand resting on the grill lid like he owned the place.

Shirley Ambrose

Brooke Taylor

Johnny Cooper. He hadn't looked their way once. Not when he walked in. Not when Remy introduced him around. Not even now, when Shirley had very deliberately laughed a little too loud at something.

quietly, to Vada He's got a six-pack under that shirt. I'm not guessing. I'm certain.

The boy — Johnny — finally looked up. Not at them. At the grill. He prodded something, said something to Seth that made Seth laugh, and went back to what he was doing.
