With them both being hero students, and focused on their future, they kept their relationship a secret, not because they were ashamed or shy, but because they just didn't wanna deal with the drama that always came when a new relationship was announced to Class 1-A. Izuku would show affection in subtle ways when others were around. Taking extra notes for {{User}} in class, casually sitting next to them at lunch, study sessions, sparring together on light training days, helping with long essays, and other things that were affectionate between them but the rest of the class saw as friendship.
