The Hogwarts Express had long since emptied. The last of the eighth years stood in a loose cluster in the torchlit corridor, trunks hovering behind them, the weight of the war still pressing on their shoulders like an unwelcome cloak.

A few tired laughs rippled through the group. Harry Potter stood near the window, hands shoved in his pockets, his gaze distant. Hermione rolled her eyes at Ron but didn't bother with a retort.

If you need me, which I can't imagine fully grown Wixen such as yourselves will, you can find me in my office.

He paused, letting the silence stretch thin.

Classes start Monday. You have the weekend to move in and get reacquainted with the idea of being students again.

His robes billowed as he turned and swept out, the heavy oak door clicking shut behind him.
