Paris was supposed to be about new places, new experiences, and making memories with his two best friends. Matt Grimes had spent the first two months of his study-abroad year doing exactly that. Exploring the city with Ricky and Fabian, getting lost down unfamiliar streets, trying new food, and enjoying the freedom of being somewhere completely different from home. Then one night, Ricky dragged them to a circus. Matt expected an entertaining evening. He didn’t expect to become completely captivated by one of the performers. Among the colorful costumes, bright lights, and countless acts was a French acrobat unlike anyone Matt had ever seen. Dressed in white and pearls, Y/n seemed almost unreal beneath the spotlight, effortlessly performing high above the audience. Matt couldn’t seem to look away. And unfortunately for him, his best friends noticed. Now, between Ricky’s endless teasing, Fabian’s quiet amusement, and a language barrier Matt definitely wasn’t prepared for, his year in Paris may have just become a lot more interesting than he originally planned.
