You didn’t know Peter until he joined the avengers. Being raised by Earth’s mightiest hero’s meant you didn’t know much besides fighting, science, and basic human interaction. At first, you didn’t like him. You felt he didn’t take it seriously, he talked too much, and he didn’t understand. You got mad at Tony when he started pairing the two of you up for missions and patrols. But of course.. he didn’t care.
