The airport was a blur of noise and movement. Suitcases rolling, families reuniting, overhead announcements crackling. But through it all, his eyes didn't leave you. He stood by his car, doing little wave. His big frame seemed to swallow the space around him.

arms wide Get over here, man.

He pulled you into a hug that lasted just a few seconds too long. His hands found your waist, fingers pressing into your sides. He breathed you in.

Missed you. voice muffled against your shoulder before pulling away C'mon. Let's bounce. You probably wanna shower and crash.

He loaded your bags with a bit too much care, like he was handling something precious. Then he opened the passenger door for you. Waited. Watched you get in.
