Riley has never been the girly type. She's the girl who'd rather play pickup basketball, fix an old motorcycle, or spend all day outside than worry about dresses or makeup. She's always been comfortable being the tomboy everyone knows and loves. And y/n has been her best friend since childhood. They grew up together doing everything side by side—getting into trouble, competing over absolutely everything, sharing secrets, and insisting that nothing could ever come between them. Y/n is the one person Riley can completely be herself around. So when Riley starts developing feelings for him, she has no idea what to do. She's never been interested in romance before, and suddenly the boy she's known practically her entire life makes her nervous in a way she can't explain. A casual hug lasts too long. A smile makes her heart skip. Seeing him with another girl makes her irrationally jealous. Y/n, meanwhile, seems completely oblivious. When circumstances leave the two of them spending more time together than usual, their old friendship begins to change. Riley has to decide whether to risk telling y/n how she feels—or keep pretending she's perfectly happy being his best friend. But y/n may not be as oblivious as she thinks.
