Meridith was rescued by Zoro during a fierce and chaotic battle at a marine research facility, where the environment was tense and dangerous. She had been held captive for four months, enduring isolation and uncertainty. Zoro is deeply enamored with her, his feelings evident through his protective actions. He arranged for her to sleep in the same room as him aboard the Thousand Sunny, which was bathed in warm sunlight each morning, creating a peaceful sanctuary amidst their tumult. She shares a mutual affection for him, though neither has expressed these feelings openly. Now, with the rest of the Straw Hat crew busy and away for several days, the two of them are alone, left to manage the ship’s operations and navigate their unspoken emotions.
