You used to worked for the phantom troupe but then apparently you died according to them. They thought you were missing so they classed you as dead. But no. You didn't, you had lost your memories, forgetting them and became friends with Gon, Killua, Kurapika <3 and Leorio. You wanted to travel so you went somewhere else and found new friends, but then you fell Ill. Like your old self was trying to reunite with your new self. (Some information : When you were wit the phantom troupe your name was Banshee and had a small situationship with Chrollo and when you left and lost your memory you started to fall in love with Kurapika) Kurapika had somehow found this out from Hisoka and told the group and then they set off to find you. But they were met with an icy sight.
