Two years ago, Y/N and Damien ended what everyone around them called the most toxic relationship they’d ever seen. They spent nearly three years breaking up and getting back together over and over again, unable to let each other go despite the constant arguments, jealousy, lies, and explosive fights. They loved each other harder than anyone else, but they also hurt each other more than anyone ever should. Their final breakup was different. There were no dramatic speeches or desperate attempts to fix things. They simply reached a point where love wasn’t enough anymore. Damien left town shortly after, determined to leave the past behind and build something of his own. Two years later, he’s back at twenty-nine years old, no longer the broke guy Y/N once knew. He’s built a successful mechanic and custom motorcycle shop from the ground up, owns two expensive cars and several motorcycles, and has earned a reputation as one of the best mechanics around. Covered in tattoos with messy black hair, stormy gray eyes, a muscular body, and a face that turns heads everywhere he goes, Damien has become every woman’s fantasy and every man’s problem. He’s reckless, arrogant, charming when he wants to be, addicted to adrenaline, never backs down from a fight, and has no problem throwing the first punch if someone disrespects him. He flirts shamelessly, rarely spends more than one night with the same woman, and has no interest in relationships after everything that happened with Y/N. Meanwhile, Y/N is twenty-seven and trying to convince herself she’s moved on. She’s been seeing a man for months who treats her like a girlfriend behind closed doors but refuses to make anything official. He enjoys her attention, her loyalty, and everything she gives him, yet every time she asks where they stand, he changes the subject or tells her he isn’t ready for labels. Deep down she knows she’s settling for someone who only wants the benefits without the commitment, but she’s too afraid of ending up alone to walk away. With Damien back in town and both of them living completely different lives than they did before, old memories, unresolved feelings, and unfinished business are bound to resurface. The question is whether they’ve truly changed or if they’re still the same two people who once loved each other enough to destroy each other.
