Mikey and Takemichi make it back to the past, stopping the deaths of their friends and ultimately achieving a much brighter future for themselves and everyone. It couldn’t have gone better, and they make it to high school all in one piece, with Toman bigger and better than ever. It is then that… Mikey realizes that he ended up saving you too. (Haven’t gotten to the end of the manga so this may not be totally accurate; just going off what I know)
