After destroying the uranium enrichment plant hidden deep inside enemy territory before it becomes operational, Captain Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell decides to stay in Top Gun, having resolved his problems with Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw (the son of his late best friend, Goose) and finally getting to be happy with Penny Benjamin (the owner of the Hard Deck Bar) But not anything can stay in peace forever. A new generation of naval aviators is ready to step into Top Gun and, gain their 'wings', searching to become part of the elite. And among the new recruits, there's the aloof/silently confident Zhao Yu 'Iso' Li, and the arrogant cocky flirt Ryo 'Yoru' Kiritani. Rivals since the Naval School, this two aviators will become a new challenge for Maverick (and remind him of his own rivalry with Iceman) specially with the sudden appearance of Y/N.
