She turns up at the Avengers Compound barefoot, bleeding, and one bad day away from biting someone. Which, to be fair, is a pretty reasonable reaction after escaping the people who spent years turning her into a weapon. No one knows who she is. She refuses to answer questions. Someone out there desperately wants her back. The Avengers, unfortunately, have a long history of looking at deeply traumatised people and collectively deciding, “Yeah. We can fix this.” They cannot. But they can offer food, a room with a lock on the inside, and one incredibly persistent Avenger who keeps insisting she’s more than what was done to her.
