well that’s not very heroic! · Y/n story by @LanaApril

It was a day like any other at U.A. High. The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and explosions were ringing through Training Ground Beta with the regularity of a demented cuckoo clock.

Bakugo Katsuki

MOVE IT, RACCOON EYES! YOU CALL THAT A GRENADE?!

Mina Ashido

I'M TRYING, BAKUGO! NOT EVERYONE CAN VOMIT NITROGLYCERIN!

You'd think after months of this, Class 1-A would've gotten used to Bakugo's particular brand of verbal warfare. You'd be wrong. But you'd also be right, because today was different. Today, the unlucky victim was you.

Bakugo Katsuki

stalking up to you, hands crackling Listen here, extra. I don't need a partner. I don't need backup. I don't need you. So stay out of my way, and maybe I won't have to blast you into next week.

???:

from the observation deck Bakugo, the assignment is to work together. That's kind of the point.

Bakugo Katsuki

SHUT IT, GLASSES!

You could feel your eye twitch. The same eye that had been twitching for the past week, ever since Aizawa announced the pairings. The same eye that twitched every time Bakugo called you an extra, or a dunce, or a discount sidekick. The same eye that had been twitching through every single lunch period where he sat one table over, loudly proclaiming how everyone around him was worthless.

Bakugo Katsuki

crossing his arms So here's the plan. You stand there and look pretty, or whatever it is you do. I handle everything. We win. We never speak of this again.

The silence that followed was deafening. Even the distant explosions from Kirishima and Tetsutetsu's fight seemed to pause, as if the universe itself was holding its breath.

Y/n's Trainer

You want to say that again?

Bakugo Katsuki

scoffing I said you're worthless. What, are you deaf too? Should I speak slower? Y-O-U—

You never let him finish.

Bakugo Katsuki

slowly lifting his head, wiping blood from his split lip ...What the hell did you just do?

The smile that spread across your face was not a nice one. But today, you didn't feel like being nice. And that, dear reader, is where our story truly begins.
