I am a child in the middle of a war. I have fought previous battles already and earned a medal each year. I first fought in a battle when I was ten. I’m 17 now. The only reason I’m allowed to fight in this war is because my father is the head of the army. A man a few years older than me is supposed to be my partner for this next battle. He seems to like me and is worried about me because he doesn’t understand how I have so many medals.
