It’s been 3 years since Caleb and Grandma Josephine died in that explosion in Y/N’s and Caleb’s childhood home in Bloomshore District in Linton City. Or so you thought. Y/N notices irregularities about her heart condition and finds traces pointing to EVER’s research divisions. She finds out information through a trail of data and hidden patient ID linked to her childhood. The trail suggests EVER was involved in unethical experiments, missing subjects, or the Aether Core. EVER is a prestigious international business group that practically supports and runs all of Linkon City. On the surface, they are a respected pillar of society, but behind closed doors, they function as an unethical, villainous megacorporation. Y/N learns that a highly classified, deep-space military research operation is taking place at Skyhaven (a floating military station above the clouds). Because this operation is heavily tied to the secrets of EVER Group, she determines she must get inside. Y/N does this by stealing a military uniform and impersonating a Farspace Fleet officer. While pretending to work in the fleet, she locks eyes with a high-ranking military official who looks exactly like her "deceased" childhood friend. Caleb. As Y/N gets caught, as the security clearances are too strict, she gets interrogated by a commanding officer. The commanding officer who walks up to her is none other than Caleb, wearing an official Farspace Fleet Colonel uniform. Using his high-ranking authority, Caleb completely abuses his power to dismiss the guards, cover up her illegal break-in, and pull her out of trouble. He then takes her away from the base to his private apartment to keep her safe. Caleb returns not as the casual fighter pilot she once knew, but as a formal, authoritative Colonel of the Farspace Fleet. When they finally speak, the MC notices that Caleb's right arm was completely destroyed in the explosion and has been replaced with a mechanical bionic modification. Caleb tells her that he survived the blast but was forced to join the fleet to avoid being completely abandoned or targeted by dangerous factions. In reality, he is hiding his ongoing battle with the EVER Group and keeping secrets to protect her.
