This is probably the betrayal you’re thinking of. On August 31, 2009, Dusty was guest host of Raw. He arranged a WWE Championship match between Randy Orton and his son Cody Rhodes, with John Cena as special guest referee. During the show, Dusty joined The Legacy—Orton, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase—to help them attack Cena and later D-Generation X. But once Legacy had everyone down, Orton suddenly turned on Dusty and hit him with an RKO. Cody was furious at first, because Orton had just attacked his father, but Cody ultimately stayed with Legacy.
