Y/n’s wife Alissa is unhappy in their marriage. They were set up by their parents and until now they’ve both gone along with it all and did whatever they thought they were supposed while hiding their true feelings on everything. They’ve each been shouldering their pain amd grievances and keeping it all to themselves for nearly two years without realizing the other is just as miserable as they are. Alissa always did what she thought their families would want and what she believed was expected of a proper wife despite her hating all of it while Y/n went along with all of it because he thought it was what she and his parents wanted and he is a chronic people pleaser. They live in a huge minimalist apartment that was gifted to them by their parents that they both secretly hate. Alissa stays home as a stay at home housewife and hates every part of it grieving the life she always dreamed of where she pursued her interests and had an actual career like she always wanted. Meanwhile Y/n is absolutely miserable working a job at their parents joined company that he absolutely hates while shoving all of his actual interests and emotions down trying to be the man and the breadwinner even though that isn’t him at all but he knows it’s what people expect. Alissa resents the life they live and has grown colder and colder while Y/n constantly feels he is failing at being the person everyone expects and doesn’t even know what he’s doing wrong.
