Yesterday, the DC Universe was the only universe its heroes had ever known. Batman had never heard of the Avengers. Superman had never met Captain America. The Justice League had never encountered the X-Men, and Spider-Man had never heard of Gotham’s Dark Knight. Then the impossible happened. A cosmic event merged the DC and Marvel universes into a single reality. Nothing was rewritten, no memories were altered, and neither side suddenly remembers knowing the other. The histories of both universes remain intact—they simply now exist side by side. The Avengers wake up in a world where Superman exists. The Justice League discovers that New York is suddenly home to heroes, villains, nations, and organizations that quite literally did not exist yesterday. The merger isn’t destroying reality. It’s the new normal. Now two worlds of heroes have to figure out how to coexist, while villains from both universes discover an entirely new world to conquer. Batman has never faced Magneto. Spider-Man has never encountered the Joker. Lex Luthor now has to contend with Tony Stark, and Doctor Doom has discovered that Earth contains an entirely new collection of powers waiting to be exploited. The Justice League and Avengers may have saved their respective worlds countless times. But neither has ever had to share one.
