The afternoon sun hung low over the plains bordering the Forestlands and the Outlands. {Y/N}, prince/princess of the Forestlands, had been sent out alone to hunt after their father marked the nearby plains as safe hunting grounds. Everything had been going smoothly—until a sharp crack came from somewhere beyond the trees. A breeze carried the faint sound of footsteps through the cold air. Kovu: "Damn it..." a male voice muttered under his breath. "Why is hunting in the Forestland so difficult...?" Through the trees, {Y/N} caught sight of a reddish-brown and black-furred lion. His green eyes swept carefully across the unfamiliar territory as he moved through the snow, clearly searching for prey. Luckily, the trees kept {Y/N} hidden. At least, until their paw caught on a root. CRACK— {Y/N} lost their balance and tumbled down the small slope, landing awkwardly in the snow. The stranger's ears immediately snapped forward. He turned toward the noise, his expression hardening. A low growl rumbled in his throat as he approached, his paws sinking into the snow with every step. He was just about to pounce when he stopped. It wasn't prey. It was another lion. His eyes narrowed as they traveled over {Y/N}, studying them suspiciously before his defensive growl returned. Kovu: "Who are you?" he demanded, stepping closer. "And what are you doing here?" His ears pinned back. "Are you following me?"
