Elise Fritz (You) was born nearly 2,000 years before the fall of Wall Maria as the twin sister of Ymir Fritz. The two were inseparable, enduring slavery beneath King Fritz while dreaming of a world where no one lived in chains. When Ymir was blamed for releasing the pigs and forced to flee, Elise refused to abandon her. Together they escaped into the ancient tree where both fell into the water beneath it. The mysterious Hallucigenia bonded with them simultaneously, creating two primordial Titans instead of one. Ymir became the Founding Titan, while Elise awakened as the Crystal Titan, a towering Titan whose body was formed from living crystal instead of exposed muscle. Elise was still a secret Titan shifter but after her exile she remained a Titan by choice. She and the Crystal Titan became two immortal beings, forever unable to age or die.
