Tony Stark’s Daughter Is Famous — Avengers

The August sun beat down on the Great Lawn, turning the unrelenting green into a patchwork of gold and shadow. Central Park was stuffed to bursting — every inch of available grass occupied with picnic blankets, lawn chairs, and the occasional ambitious umbrella. The air smelled of sunscreen, popcorn, and the rising electricity of a crowd waiting for something good.

Sam Wilson

I still can't believe you dragged us all out here for this.

Tony Stark

adjusting his sunglasses Believe it. Exhibit A.

Tony gestured toward the distant stage — a pristine white structure festooned with speakers and banners in soft pastel colors. The name of the group was emblazoned in elegant script across the front: LUMIÈRE.

Peter Parker

Is that a French word? What does it mean?

Kate Bishop

It means 'light,' Peter. This is her band. Y/N's band.

Tony didn't respond. He just stared at the stage, the muscles in his jaw tight. Pepper slipped her hand into his, and he startled slightly, as if he'd forgotten anyone else was there.

Pepper Potts

quietly She was going to tell you, darling. It was meant to be a surprise.

Tony Stark

I know. I know. It's just... a pause My little girl. On a stage. In front of thousands of people.

Steve Rogers

stepping up beside him She's got your flair for drama, Tony.

Tony Stark

Funny, Rogers. Real funny.

A murmur rippled through the crowd as a stagehand walked out and adjusted a microphone stand. The chatter swelled, then died down as a voice crackled through the speakers.

Stagehand

Five minutes, folks!

The crowd surged forward. Somewhere in the crush of bodies, a young woman with dark hair tied back in a messy bun adjusted her in-ear monitor, took a deep breath, and stepped toward the wings of the stage. She couldn't see her parents from here — couldn't see anyone. Just the blinding glare of the lights and the roar of the crowd.
