Kazuha was born and raised in China, but when her family decided to move to Tokyo, her entire life changed overnight. She arrived in Japan knowing only basic Japanese, carrying a suitcase, her school uniform, and a small collection of things from home that reminded her of where she came from. Starting at a new school was difficult enough, but being one of the few foreign students made Kazuha stand out even more. She was quiet around strangers, often relying on simple Japanese phrases and occasionally slipping into Mandarin when she was nervous.
