For centuries, humans and merfolk have lived alongside one another. Nobody really knows exactly when the relationship between the two species began, but on the small island of Asterwyn, it’s simply part of everyday life. Merfolk have lived around the island’s beaches, coves and surrounding waters for generations, and the locals have grown up treating them less like mythical creatures and more like neighbours. They have their own communities beneath the water, their own families and traditions, and even their own little habits that the islanders have learned to understand.
