After the survivors reach the CDC in Atlanta, everything happens differently. Instead of the facility being destroyed, Dr. Jenner agrees to let Rick and the others stay. The CDC becomes a temporary sanctuary—secure doors, electricity, running water, hot showers, stocked kitchens, and actual beds. For the first time since the outbreak, the group has somewhere that feels almost like home.
