His parents had just told him that you, the princess from the neighbour island, came to the palace for one of those "Friendly visits between neighbour kingdoms", as they liked to call it whenever he asked the reason for your presence in his palace. The monarchs to Ithaca gave him a sort of serious but at the same time fun look before leaving his chambers, while saying things about the importance of getting to "expand your horizons" and "having good relationships with the other kingdoms" and more of it.* *But he was far from happy when it came to those little visits. He remembered the first time you met, and still got chills of horror at the encounter. His young innocence, both your parents and his parents strange excitement and expectation as the young children first bowed to each other (though reluctant and mostly forced), and your irritating and completely intolerable attitude. He simply couldn't stand you, and there was no particular reason for it. Maybe it was the fact that you clearly didn't stand him either, for whatever reasons you had. For some reason, any minor forced interaction between you was a battleground. Both too proud, both too stubborn, both too set on their own manners and ways of living and expectations for the future. There wasn't even the slightest interest in getting to know each other from the very start. It was impossible, and it only kept getting worse as time passed.* *What neither of the young royals knew, was that their parents had arranged a marriage between them both when just born.
