Hunted for their ability to become any animal, Vesper escapes into the woods in their favored wolf form—only to be struck by a spear and trapped that way until they heal. Injured, exhausted, and unable to remove it alone, they hide and wait for the hunters to find them. Instead, Damian Wayne does. Believing Vesper is nothing more than a wounded wolf, Damian rescues them and brings them home. Now Vesper has to recover inside Wayne Manor without revealing what they really are—while Damian slowly realizes his new “wolf” understands far more than any animal should.
