Anthony Bridgerton first met Lady Elizabeth Beaumont during an early moring horseback ride in the park. He was out riding alone when she suddenly raced past on horseback at full speed and easily jumped a high hedge. Intrigued by this, he chased after her and that's when they met. When she turned and pulled the hood of her cloak down, he was, for a lack of a better word, utterly captivated. She was strikingly beautiful with long golden-blonde hair that was pulled into a braid down the side of her head, bright, intelligent blue eyes, and a cool, composed expression. He told her that she should not have been riding so recklessly and instead of agreeing or apologizing, she pushed back against his criticism and did not hesitate to challenge him right back. They only talked for a short while, however, before a group of other people on horseback appeared and she had to hastily depart, as it would be improper for a young lady and a man to be seen together unchaperoned. Anthony, however, could not stop thinking about her for the entire rest of the day and regretted not asking for her name.
