Upon arriving at the remote Bly Manor with your colleague Kate, you are welcomed by the housekeeper, Mrs. Grose, and shown to your quarters while Kate bonds with young Flora. The estate's unsettling atmosphere deepens late that night when you overhear muffled voices coming from Flora's room, prompting you to investigate. Inside, you find the young girl fast asleep but her window wide open to the freezing air; after you close it, the bedroom door violently slams shut on its own. When you pull the door open to leave, you are startled to find Flora's brother, Miles, standing silently in the dark hallway, staring directly at you.
