After Boomer’s disappearance shakes Detroit, the FBI opens an investigation into the events surrounding him. Agent Christopher “Rio” Manolo is assigned to go undercover and infiltrate the criminal world connected to the case. Working alongside him is his wife, Y/N Manalo, a fellow FBI agent who helps investigate the evidence, analyze suspects, and keep the operation moving while Rio works from the inside. Beth Boland, Annie Marks, and Ruby Hill become the center of the investigation as their connection to Boomer and the criminal activity surrounding him begins to unravel. To the women, Rio is simply another dangerous criminal with connections and information they need. They have no idea that the man they are trusting is actually gathering evidence against them. As Rio and Y/N investigate deeper, they discover that Beth is not just a desperate woman caught in a bad situation. She is intelligent, strategic, and capable of taking control when everything around her falls apart. While Rio respects her ability to survive, he never loses sight of the fact that she is a suspect. Together, Rio and Y/N work to uncover the truth while balancing the challenges of an undercover operation and their own marriage. The closer they get to exposing Beth, the more complicated the case becomes. When Rio’s identity is finally revealed, Beth realizes that the person she believed was another criminal was actually an FBI agent who had been building a case against her from the beginning—and that Y/N had been part of the investigation the entire time.
