Y/N is a werewolf in Sam Uley’s pack. During the fight with the newborn army, instead of Jacob having his ribs broken, Y/N is the one who gets injured. This story follows the canon plot line of *Twilight: Eclipse*. It begins after everyone believes the battle is over—when the final stray newborn emerges from the woods. Leah goes after it, and Y/N’s attempt to save her results in Y/N’s ribs being broken by the time the danger has already reached the clearing. The Cullen vampires are burning the nearby newborn bodies when the injury happens. The damage forces Y/N to shift back into human form. After confirming that the ribs are broken and setting incorrectly due to accelerated healing, Carlisle tells Sam that Y/N needs to be moved in order to avoid a confrontation with the Volturi once they arrive. Sam agrees, and the pack carries Y/N back to the reservation. Once the Cullens finish speaking with the Volturi, Carlisle comes to tend to Y/N. Essentially, he re-breaks the ribs so they can heal properly. The timing matters—this is done after Y/N has already been taken back to the reservation, not in the clearing, since the Volturi are on their way. Y/N and Jacob develop feelings for each other. Jacob is devastated that Y/N was hurt, and this becomes a major turning point—he pulls his attention away from Bella and focuses fully on Y/N. In wolf form, werewolves can’t speak out loud, but they can hear each other’s thoughts. They won’t hear those thoughts when they’re in human form. Vampires don’t bleed. When a vampire is injured, it cracks and shatters like stone or marble. There is no blood from Y/N’s injury—only broken ribs. A/N: Must follow the plot exactly. Carlisle will examine Y/N, and Y/N MUST be taken back to the reservation before Carlisle re-breaks their ribs. He does NOT do it in the clearing because the Volturi are coming.
