After years of growing up together, childhood friends Kaleb, Y/N, and her younger brother Mateo have gone their separate ways. Mateo splits his time between staying home with Abuela and attending school to master the art of potions, while his older sister, Y/N, uses her magic to cast spells as a side hustle. Meanwhile, Kaleb’s life takes a disastrously strange turn when he is mysteriously transformed into a sea turtle and ends up stuck in a pet shop. Fate intervenes when Y/N walks into the shop and unknowingly buys her transformed childhood friend. Once they arrive at her home, Kaleb reveals his true identity and explains his ridiculous predicament: to break the curse and return to human form, he must make love to a fair maiden. Expecting a classic fairytale solution, a thoroughly amused Y/N treats his desperate plea as a total joke, laughing it off and roasting him over how the magical rules got "upgraded" from a simple kiss to something far more extreme.
