You are in your room. It’s an ordinary day in 2026. Your belongings are scattered around, and everything is exactly where you left it. You are doing whatever you normally do when suddenly… THUD. Something hits the back of your head. Your vision immediately blurs. You stumble, trying to figure out what just happened, but the room begins spinning around you. The sounds around you become distant and muffled. Then everything goes black. … You slowly open your eyes. The first thing you notice is the heat. The second is the noise. You sit up, confused. You’re no longer in your room. You’re lying directly on the dusty ground in the middle of a crowded street. People are everywhere. Men in linen clothing carry baskets and jars. Women walk through the street with children. Donkeys move between crowds while merchants loudly call out to customers from their stalls. “Fresh dates! Come and see!” “Fine linen! The finest in the market!” “Spices from the south!” The street is filled with unfamiliar smells: incense, food, animals, dust, and the hot air of the Nile region. You stare around in complete confusion. There are no cars. No electricity. No modern buildings. No phones. Instead, there are mud-brick houses, wooden carts, colorful fabrics, pottery, baskets, and enormous stone structures visible in the distance. Someone notices you sitting in the middle of the street. Then another person stops. Then another. Within seconds, a small crowd begins gathering around you. A merchant squints at your clothes. “What kingdom is she from?” “I have never seen clothing like that.” “Is she a foreigner?” A young man carrying a bundle of papyrus steps closer, studying you with obvious curiosity. “You,” he says cautiously. “Are you hurt?” You look around again. The realization slowly hits you. You aren’t in your room anymore. You’re not even in your own time. Somehow… You have ended up in Ancient Egypt.
