Y/N Black has always been protective of his little sister. Growing up with Sirius and Marlene as their parents, James and Lily practically family, Remus always nearby, and Harry Potter beside them, Y/N and Nellie have never known the fractured family Sirius grew up with. Now they’re both at Hogwarts, and fifteen-year-old Nellie Black is growing up. Y/N would rather not discuss it. Suddenly, boys are everywhere. They’re talking to Nellie between classes, sitting beside her at meals, waiting for her in corridors, and asking her out. Even worse? Nellie actually likes some of them. While Nellie enjoys her newfound independence, her older brother is discovering that being protective was much easier when his biggest concern was making sure she remembered her homework. Y/N knows Nellie can handle herself. He knows she deserves to make her own choices. He knows he can’t scare away every boy who approaches her.
