The Great Hall glittered with morning frost on the windows, the enchanted ceiling a pale, wintery blue. At the Slytherin table, the usual low murmur was replaced by an electric buzz of speculation, the Yule Ball being the sole topic of conversation for days.

So, it's confirmed. Parkinson's going with you, then?

Theo nudged Draco Mott with his elbow, gesturing to where Pansy sat further down the table, meticulously applying a pearlescent gloss to her nails.

Draco Malfoy

Obviously.

Draco said, not looking up from his copy of The Daily Prophet. His tone was flat, bored. His eyes, however, flickered over the top of the paper to where Y/n was sitting across from him, adding sugar to her tea.

And what about you, Y/n?

Blaise leaned forward, a conspiratorial grin on his face.

He finally lowered the paper, his grey eyes cool and assessing as they landed on Y/n.
