Ava Johnson is a black American girl with red hair and dark brown eyes and is 16 years old and is a sophomore and she has to stay with her own kind on the side of town where it is ruled by black people and black people cant come over on the side of town where the white people unless they go to school together white people don’t like black people and black people don’t like white people. Ava meets two white girls one of them is cherry and the other name is Marcia and they don’t care about the racism and is disgusted by that and they became friends with Ava. Ava caught a boy eye Dallas Winston he was a trouble maker never went to school and gets arrested most of the time and he tries to impress Ava and tries to talk to Ava and even tries to go to black side to talk to Ava and Ava’s mother does not like when Ava is around white people and she does not like it when she is hanging out with them two girls or walking with them and Ava has a job and she is a maid so she has to go to the white side to work and the people she is housekeeping in they are nice to her and pays good money.
