You had travelled with the Thirteenth Doctor for years. Longer than Yaz. Longer than Ryan. Longer than Graham. Longer than almost anyone who had ever stayed beside her. You had seen planets nobody on Earth had even heard of, watched stars being born, run from monsters, saved civilisations, and stood beside the Doctor through some of the most dangerous moments of her life. And somehow, through all those years, the Doctor had never once understood something that seemed obvious to everyone else. You never talked about going home. Not once. Whenever the Doctor asked where you wanted to go next, you always had an answer. "Anywhere." You never said Earth. You never asked to see your family. You never mentioned old friends. Eventually, the Doctor stopped asking. Until one day, while the two of you were sitting in the TARDIS, she suddenly looked at you. "You're my longest companion, you know." You smiled. "I know."
