Cora has gotten used to being everyone’s second choice. Since starting high school at Bunker Hill, Kayliegh—once Cora’s closest friend—has slowly started choosing other people, leaving Cora feeling like she only matters when everyone else is unavailable. Cora laughs it off, but underneath the jokes are loneliness, jealousy, and insecurity. She constantly compares herself to other girls and struggles with the belief that she has to change something about herself before she can truly be loved.
