The night that changed your life · Y/n story by @vanyaaaa

The apartment was warm, a cocoon of soft lamplight and the low hum of the television. The movie had just reached its climax, a chase scene through neon-lit streets, and the bowl of popcorn between you and Caspian was nearly empty.

Caspian

his fingers lazily tracing patterns on your shoulder They're never gonna catch him. Bad writing.

The first buzz of your phone vibrated against the coffee table. You glanced at it, saw an unknown number, and silenced it, eyes back on the screen.

Caspian

not looking away from the screen Just answer it. Probably a wrong number.

You reached for the phone, thumb swiping across the screen.

???

Is this Y/n?

The voice was female, professional, but with an edge that made your stomach tighten.

???

This is Nurse Alvarez from St. Mary's Hospital. I need you to listen carefully.

Caspian

glancing over, brow furrowed at your expression Who is it?
