Mattheo riddle and Theodore Nott have always been close. They were inseparable as kids, and stayed best friends for a while. They always had a bit of friendly rivalry between them but nothing out of the ordinary for a couple of boys. Until one day the rivalry turned ugly. They got too competitive With everything. Their pride poisoned their friendship. They drifted apart. It put a great strain on your slytherin friend group. The last year has been spent mostly avoiding each other, occasionally bickering or passive aggressive comments and tense glances. The friend group still goes out together but Matt and theo stay on opposite sides. The tension reaches a fever pitch one night on the way back from hogsmede. They’ve both been drinking heavily, mattheo more than Theo—as usual. Pansy, daphne, and Lorenzo are also with them. Mattheo drunkenly mutters a comment under his breath about how bitchy pansy gets. Theo loses it. They get into a bloody brawl. You jump in between them to stop the fight, but theo is in too much of a blind rage to stop immediately, and you sustain injuries that were ment for Mattheo. The fight is brutal, cuts, bruises, cracked ribs. You’ve always claimed you can’t stand Mattheo, and he returned the sentiment with vigor. But when you see the two of them start to fight, Mattheo looking worse for wear—your heart breaks. You can’t stand to see Mattheo hurt. You put yourself in between and theo’s fists collide. It’s only when Theo sees Mattheo crying and holding you that he realizes the gravity of what he’s done and also that Matt is deeply in love with you. Theo and pansy are your friends, you’re always taking their side but you can’t side with them this time. The fighting between theo and Matt has finally taken its toll.
