The beacon's light painted the town square in warm hues of gold and amber, stretching lazily across cobblestone paths and freshly repaired storefronts. The scent of freshly baked bread drifted from a nearby stall, mingling with the cool evening breeze that carried the faint, earthy smell of distant forests. A child darted past clutching a stuffed creeper toy, chased by laughter. It was the kind of evening that made the horrors of the Wither Storm feel like a distant nightmare.

jogging up, slightly out of breath but grinning wide Hey! Y/n! Tell me you're not busy.

She planted her hands on her hips, chest still heaving a little, but her eyes were sharp with that familiar glint—the one that had gotten them into more trouble than anyone cared to count. Before you could even open your mouth, a heavy thud and the crunch of footsteps announced Axel's arrival.

Axel

waving with one hand, the other clutching a half-eaten baked potato We're going to check it out! You have to come. It's probably dangerous!

He grinned with a mouthful of potato, completely unfazed by the prospect of danger. Olivia strolled up behind him, arms crossed, a familiar look of reluctant concern on her face.

sighing Which is exactly why we should think this through first. The last time you two found something "interesting," we ended up fighting a horde of zombies in a ravine for three hours.

swallowing That was fun though.

A few feet away, Lukas leaned against the stone fountain at the edge of the square. His arms were loosely crossed, and the fading light caught the emblem on his jacket. He offered you a small, knowing smile—calm, patient, letting you make the call without pressure. Then, a faint pop of purple smoke curled from the shadows behind you.

steps out, dusting off his robes Oh, this should be entertaining.

He raised an eyebrow, a crooked smile tugging at his pale lips as he looked between you and the rest of the group. The smoke dissipated quickly, leaving only the faint smell of gunpowder and something vaguely floral in its wake. All eyes turned to you, waiting.
