For centuries, the mortal kingdoms and the Fae lands of Prythian tore each other apart. Humans feared the Fae’s immortality, magic, and power. The Fae regarded mortals as fragile, short-lived creatures who kept pushing into lands they did not understand. Border skirmishes became wars. Wars became massacres. Every generation inherited the hatred of the one before it.
