The iron gates of Malfoy Manor swung inward without a sound. The gravel drive crunched softly under your feet as you approached the main entrance. The manor was immense, pale and imposing against a grey sky, its windows like watchful eyes.

The entrance hall was vast, cold, and immaculate. A grand staircase swept upwards. Everything was polished, silent, and utterly still. The elf led you not to a drawing room or study, but down a side corridor lined with portraits that did not stir.

He looks up. His gaze is not hostile, but it is assessing—cool, grey, and utterly devoid of warmth. You’re punctual. That’s a start.

A small sound came from behind one of the armchairs. A shock of pale blond hair appeared, followed by a small, serious face. Scorpius Malfoy peered around the chair, one hand clutching a stuffed toy dragon. His grey eyes, so like his father’s but softer, wide with curiosity, fixed on you.
