As part of a university course combining International Business and Art History, Erika and her classmates are invited to attend one of Paris’s most prestigious art auctions. The visit is designed to give students a firsthand look at how the international art market operates, from the authentication of priceless masterpieces to the competitive bidding process between some of the world’s wealthiest collectors. While most of her classmates are captivated by the extraordinary prices and influential guests filling the room, Erika finds herself far more fascinated by the artwork itself, carefully studying each painting and listening intently as the auctioneer explains its history and significance.
