The Kermit the Frog Productions lot in Los Angeles is quiet for a Saturday morning. The soundstage for The Late Late Show with Miss Piggy is dark, the audience seats empty. A single camera on a tripod, its red recording light off, points at a worn director’s chair labeled "PRODUCER."

Kermit the Frog

sighs, adjusts his collar Okay. So. They said we should do this. A... "behind-the-scenes" thing. For the network. To show how the magic happens.

A door slams open somewhere in the back of the soundstage. A high, dramatic voice echoes off the rafters.

Miss Piggy

OFF-SCREEN Kermie! Darling! Where is my latte? It was supposed to be here at 8:45! It is now 8:46!

Kermit the Frog

pinches the bridge of his nose And that would be the star of our show. Right on schedule.

He gestures toward the empty chair next to him, then at you, standing just inside the stage door with a visitor’s pass.

You might as well sit. It’s about to get very, very loud.
